HKA is the Project Architect for a new Environmental Education Center being designed for Maryland State Environmental Services. The new building will be 2-storied and is oriented to provide views of the waterfront as well as downtown Baltimore skyline. Visiting school children will use three classrooms, laboratory space, and outdoor spaces. The building features many green technologies: electric-producing photovoltaic panels, geothermal HVAC, batch water heating, Structurally Insulated Panels, rain barrels, and environmentally-friendly materials.
